Wow, the holidays are just about over. There is still one lingering holiday left and that’s Valentines Day. Now, be careful with this one. Chocolates and sweets seem to be the big gift item that just about everyone gives. Can you indulge some and still be healthy? Well, that all depends on your circumstances, but in many cases there are some decent choices that you can make to still be able to enjoy the sweets yet not bust at the seams any more. Consider just one dessert while you’re eating out and split it. Also, get things that are lightly sweetened with more natural things like honey. The biggest thing you can do is to stop and know when to say no!

Stopping the overindulging is probably the biggest thing one can do to work off that winter weight. Some exercise and lighter eating can be a good thing to do as well. So pitch that New Year’s resolution that you didn’t keep and get on the ball. Now is the time and it’s not too late.

If you or someone you know is obese, then you realize how tough a thing it can be. Here is yet another article trying to get across the point of how much of a problem obesity is becoming. A lot of people know that there can be some very serious health threats that come along with being over weight. Certainly many of the people who are obese know this as well. But what about some of the other issues that can be caused by being obese.

Imagine for some people that are really overweight how tough it is to sit in public seats. Heading to a restaurant for some can be a very tough thing to do. As most of us know, the seats that are in some restaurants are not that big and seem really unsafe for someone really overweight to sit in.

Another problem for some obese people is that while flying they may have to buy two seats to sit in. Not only could this be really tough emotionally for them but it can also be quite costly. Even clothes shopping can be difficult. It isn’t always easy to find clothes that fit properly and they typically cost more as well. You can see the pattern here.

Your life certainly may have to change quite a bit if you become obese. It is not only about the health issues but the emotional issues that can be really tough to deal with as well.

Who does not like the show the Biggest Loser? Look at how hard those people are working to take all that weight off. It literally is taking them working over what would be a full time job to do it. There is a sad side to the show though that people just don’t see.

The contestants are over 90% likely to put the weight back on. I remember watching a past season, one of the finalists said to the host that they knew that 90% or more of the contestants put the weight back on! I was shocked. Number one I was surprised that the number was so big and number two that they aired what she said. Anyone who has done a diet knows that it is tough to keep the weight off. Very tough.

These contestants I would imagine have a hard time adjusting to life back at home and I would imagine find it even tougher to exercise that much! I would. There’s no way I could do that much working out.

Here is an interesting article on the Biggest Loser explaining some of the eating techniques they learn on the ranch. So let’s root for our favorite Loser and enjoy the show.
