What In the World Am I Drinking?

Have you ever sat down and read the labels of the drinks you guzzle down daily? More than likely not, people typically choose what they drink based on the taste rather than what is truly in it.

Consider lets say a fruit drink or sports drink. I bet you’re thinking these must really be good for you, right? The call is up to you, just be informed.

Looking on the back of the package and seeing the label you will probably see water and think, alright- great start here, I need water. No problem, so what’s next? Now keep in mind if the ingredient is higher up and first on the list, second, etc then it has more of that ingredient.

Next you see high fructose corn syrup. Nice, so far you have sugar water. So now you have to consider is having a drink like this really what you thought it was going to be.

Well look on the back of the label, it doesn’t lie. Next time you down one of these drinks pop on a Polar heart rate monitor to see if your heart rate jumps, it might just do that.

The key here is being informed. Make sure you know what it is your eating or drinking. You make the call, nobody else can do it for you or your family.
